Small Sided Games (SSGs) are the most efficient training tool in modern soccer. By reducing the number of players (1v1, 2v2, 4v4) and the field size, you drastically increase the number of touches and decisions for every player.

Studies show players get up to 4x more touches in a 4v4 compared to an 11v11. They also keep the heart rate higher, serving as excellent specific conditioning without the need for laps.
A standard starting point is 25×35 yards. Make it smaller to train tight control, pressing, and physical contact. Make it larger to train passing range, endurance, and switching play.
